From recycling to walking to two Oktoberfest options – and much more – here’s our list of what to know as the first weekend of October begins, mostly from the WSB West Seattle Event Calendar:

WEST SEATTLE ALZHEIMER’S SUPPORT WALK: 10 am, if you can’t get to the big Walk to End Alzheimer’s downtown, join the unofficial West Seattle mini-walk in Gatewood. All welcome. Meet on SW Othello at 37th SW.
DELRIDGE FARMERS’ MARKET: Larger location this season, which ends October 31! 10 am-2 pm, shop for fruit and vegetables, prepared food and beverages, artisan body care, makers’ creations, more. (9th SW and SW Henderson)
DACHSHUND WALK: 10 am Saturdays, dachshunds and their people meet up at Alki Statue of Liberty Plaza (61st/Alki) for a group walk.
