WEST SEATTLE BOOKS: Two big events ahead at Paper Boat Booksellers

Paper Boat Booksellers (4522 California; WSB sponsor) has two big in-store events coming up in the next several days!

PAM HOUSTON ON FRIDAY: Award-winning author Pam Houston will be at the shop for a 6 pm reading on Friday (October 23) to celebrate the publication of her new book “Animals Taught Me Everything.” The announcement says that in her new book, Houston “brings together 15 essays exploring the relationships that have shaped her life, from the dogs, horses, sheep, chickens, and donkey on her Colorado ranch, to the wild animals she has encountered in Iceland, southern Africa, Northern California, New Mexico’s Gila Wilderness and beyond.” And she “writes about grief, aging, long COVID, the natural world, travel, teaching, and the ways animals have helped her navigate both difficult and transcendent moments.” Paper Boat co-proprietor Desirae says, “Books will be available for purchase at the event and a book signing will follow. This event is free but we ask that you RSVP so we can get an approximate headcount. Seating is limited but there is plenty of standing room.”

LATE-NIGHT RELEASE PARTY MONDAY: Then on Monday night (October 26), you’re invited to this:

We’ve planned a midnight release party for the upcoming book “A Court of Splintered Harmony“ by Sarah J Maas.

Celebrate the release, Book 6 in the ACOTAR series. This book has been long awaited and we can’t wait to see fans at our Midnight Release Party happening October 26th from 10:30-Midnight.

Our celebration includes:

-A Pajama Party (why not be ready for bed once you snag your book?)
-Hot Chocolate Bar
-Snacks
-Trivia (with prizes)
-Goodie Bags
-ACOTAR-themed items for purchase

This event is free to join but preorders are heavily encouraged so we have an idea for numbers. We hope you can join us for our very first Midnight Release Party here at the shop!
